JCCHS takes second in recent meets

Other placers included Claire Collin, who took second in the long jump and third in the triple jump. Charlotte Foster placed fourth in the long jump and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Christa Beth Vaughn took third in the high jump. Rachel Smith took fourth in the high jump. Brittany Aikens placed second in the 1600-meters.

The 4x100 team of Foster, Amber Harper, Collin and Ledford placed second.

The boys finished second as well, amassing 56 points to winner East Jackson’s 119.5.

Among the winners were Jonathan Baxter, who placed first in the discus. Cody Atkins placed first in the 800-meters. Marvin Ledford took top honors in the 3200-meters and second in the 1600-meters. Charles Smothers took first in the 100-meters. The 4x100 team of Zane Cochran, Charlie Waycaster, Rodderick Burks and Smothers were winners as well.

Other placers included Burks, who placed second in the long jump, second in the 100-meters and second in the 200-meters. Nick Oney took second in the 400-meters. Kyle Dowling placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. Peter Thao placed third in the 800-meters. Dragos Teodore placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.
