Jefferson to host Patriots Wednesday

When Jefferson entered into play last week against the only other undefeated team in the region, the North Oconee Titans, they knew they had a tough task at hand. Only one of the teams could keep their record unblemished, and the Dragons hoped it would be them.

After a scoreless first inning, the Titans struck first blood by getting a runner across in the bottom of the second to take an early lead.

After two more scoreless innings, Jefferson began to mount a charge by getting their first run of the night on the board in the top of the fifth.

Both teams held their own through the bottom of the fifth and the top of the sixth, but in the bottom of the sixth, North Oconee broke out, putting two more runs across to take a 3-1 lead. Jefferson couldn’t close the gap, and recorded their first region loss of the season.
