Youth hockey player to travel to Sweden

The games will be played July 12-21. Other teams competing will be from Finland, Norway, Canada, Germany and Sweden.

The players will stay with host families in Sweden who have a son competing for that country’s team.

The objective of the overseas trip is to expose skilled U.S. players to European hockey through competition and skills training, both on and off the ice.

The trip will also provide quality European competition, training, cultural exchanges, touring and a memorable international experience for the players.

Kitchens is the son of Mitch and Beth Kitchens of Winder and the grandson of Martha and Bill Whiting and Randall and Ann Kitchens.
