Chalk up another successful week for the Jefferson Diamond Dragons.
With a win over rival Commerce, followed by two region wins last week, the Dragons were sitting high heading into yesterday’s game against North Oconee. Sub-region opponent North Oconee hosted Jefferson Tuesday evening in the battle for the top spot in the subregion.
Tuesday’s battle for supremacy, left Jefferson wanting as the Dragons suffered a 3-1 defeat to North Oconee. This is the first loss for the Dragons in region play.
Coming up this week for Jefferson, the Dragons will look to defend its previous win against East Jackson Thursday on the road. Last week, the Dragons handed down an 11-1 defeat to the Eagles. Opening pitch is at 5:30 p.m. at East Jackson.
During last week’s three games Jefferson broke into double digit scoring each night. The only game that saw Jefferson giving up more than five runs was against rival Commerce.
Jefferson’s Caleb Meek slides across home to tally another run for the Dragons during last week’s succesful three game streak.
