Tigers Move To 3-0 In Region Play

Hebron

The Tigers hosted Hebron Christian Academy last Tuesday in the team’s second region game and slipped away with a 5-4 win.

Carl Allen pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and only two earned runs on seven hits. Allen also had a hit.

Ethan Thomas went 2-4, and Hunter Ward smacked a solo homer. Josh Streetman went 2-3 with two RBIs while Cody Streetman went 2-3.

Jefferson

Commerce suffered a 12-7 loss to Jefferson on Wednesday, but Jefferson scored four on a grand slam to push the lead to 8-1. The Tigers rallied and at the end of the fifth inning had battled back to within three, 9-6, but Jefferson held on for the win.

Thomas had an RBI and a hit. Ward went 2-4 with an RBI, and Colton Brown and Chase Barnett also had RBIs.

Social Circle

Brushing off the loss to Jefferson, Commerce picked up its third region win against Social Circle, 9-5.

T. Green started on the mound, recording three strikeouts and giving up five runs on five hits over four innings. Allen pitched three perfect innings of relief, striking out six.

Brown led the offense with two hits in four appearances at the plate, driving in four.
