Banks County High School’s varsity Leopards started region competition by getting shut out by Jefferson.
The 13-0 loss, last Thursday, is the Leopards’ second loss of the season and the first region loss.
Banks looks to brush off the defeat with a region win over Oglethorpe this evening. The Leopards will take on the Patriots today (Wednesday) at 5 p.m. in Oglethorpe.
On Friday, Banks continues on the road against region opponent North Oconee. Game time is 5:55 p.m. at North Oconee.
Coach Joe Lord is not letting the Jefferson loss sidetrack the team and knows that the region season is just getting started.
“The region schedule is just starting up,” Lord said. “We'll see [Jefferson] two more times, and we'll get back to practice and back to work. There is a long way to go in the season.”
