This week is busy for Steve Cotrell’s Diamond Tigers as the team comes off a 14-3 win over Prince Avenue.
Marking its first region win, the team has three games scheduled, two region and the Jefferson rivalry game, this week.
On Tuesday Commerce hosted region opponent Hebron Christian. Results from the game were unavailable at press time.
Today (Wednesday), the Tigers host rival Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. Jefferson is 4-1 for the season in AA competition with 44 runs scored. Commerce is 4-2 overall with 53 runs scored. Both teams are averaging nine runs per game. Jefferson’s Dragons have dominated the Tigers the past three seasons.
Coming up on Friday, Commerce is on the road facing region opponent Social Circle. Social Circle also was scheduled to play two other games this week against Athens Christian and Tallulah Falls. The Redskins are 1-1 in region play and 4-2 overall.
