The Jefferson Sea Dragons have been showing spirit at the past few swim meets.
At the June 14 NGSL Pentathlon in Winder, only the best swimmers participated.
The Sea Dragons had 17 swimmers attend and eight finished in the top 10 of their age group.
The finishers were (by age group):
Casey Harper finished 12th in the girls 7-8 age group;
Heather Perry finished fifth, Camille Porter finished sixth, Ryan Childress finished seventh, Abby Richardson finished eighth, Bayleigh Marlow finished 12th and Caroline Mitchell finished 15th in the girls 9-10 age group;
Gabrielle Joransen finished ninth in the girls 13-14 age group; Adrienne Joransen finished 16th in the girls 15-18 age group.
Jackson Gibson finished 20th and Caleb Harper finished 21st in the boys 9-10 age group;
Ben Goocher finished sixth, James Joransen finished 19th and Zach Bowman finished 33rd in the boys 11-12 age group;
Nick Walker finished eight in the boys 13-14 age group;
Jeremy Deremer finished fourth in the boys 15-18 age group.
The Sea Dragons also faced rival Commerce in a dual June 19, but no results were available from that meet.
At the NGSL Splash meet, June 21, the Sea Dragons had a number of top five finishes including:
McKenzie Klinck, first place in the girls six and under freestyle, second in the backstroke;
Jackson Perry, third in the boys six and under freestyle, third in the backstroke;
Dylan Childress, fifth in the boys eight and under freestyle;
Heather Perry, fourth in the girls 10 and under freestyle, fifth in the backstroke, fourth in the butterfly;
Lindsey Kelley, fourth in the girls eight and under backstroke;
Ryan Childress, fourth in the girls 10 and under backstroke;
Haley Bartoletta, fifth in the girls eight and under butterfly;
Lucas Carreno, fifth in the boys eight and under butterfly;
Camille Porter, fifth in the girls 10 and under butterfly;
Andrew Bartek, first place in the boys 13-14 freestyle, first in the breaststroke;
Jeremy Deremer, fourth in the boys 13-14 backstroke, second in the breaststroke, third in the butterfly;
Luis Carreno, third in the boys 11-12 breaststroke;
and Carolyn Carreno, second in the girls 13-14 breaststroke.
The next meet for the Sea Dragons is the Invitational at Dacula Park Pool June 28.
