The varsity Leopard soccer players made a good showing at the inaugural Crown Mountain Cup last week.
Banks County finished in second place behind the triple-A powerhouse Lumpkin County.
The second place finish left the Leopards 6-2 heading into the region opener Monday night against Rabun County.
Scores were unavailable at press time from Monday’s match.
Coming up this week for the Banks County boys is Riverside. The Leopards will meet Riverside on the road in the second region game of the season. Riverside is currently 4-2 on the season coming off a win against St. Francis. The boys’ only game starts at 4:30 p.m.
