Banks County’s Mat Leopards ended a strong season at the state tournament on Saturday, in a tie for 12th place with East Jackson.
Banks had a third place finish from Tramane Mayfield at 285 pounds, a fourth place finish from Matthew Patton at 215 pounds and fifth-place finisher Demetric Dempson at 171 pounds.
Banks scored 47 points, as did East Jackson. East Jackson had two third-place finishers and a sixth-place finisher.
Both teams trailed state champion Jefferson, Lovett, Toombs County, Henry County, Dublin, Sonoraville, Westminster, Swainsboro, Blessed Trinity, Benedictine and Buford.
