Leopards bumped by Dawson

Banks County was down by one point at the half. After being outscored in the third quarter, Banks trailed, 25-38. The Leopards made a move in the fourth quarter cutting the Dawson lead down to six points, but a turnover in the lane followed by a Dawson three-pointer resulted in Banks slipping backwards to trail by nine.

Kasey Hudgins played his best game according to Ruth, hitting three three-pointers in a critical time for Banks. Hudgins totaled 14 points to lead the Leopards’ scoring.

Kane Duncan scored nine points followed by Ryan Griffin with eight points. Chase Armour made the return to the court from the injured list, adding seven points in the first half. Quintin Lovelace scored four points, as did Kevin Daniel. Trey Martin added one point to the effort.

The season started excellent for Banks County, the team had a seven game streak in December and was working the press.

Hitting a snag at the first of the year, as Banks hit the brunt of the subregion contests, unfavorable factors compiled.

The Leopards were faced with the loss of Chase Armour to an injury that hurt the Leopards, as the team was not able to recover and sank into a six game rut, before hitting a 95-75 win over Oglethorpe.

Ruth said that Banks could have probably won four or five more games if Armour was in the lineup.

Banks ended the regular season on a high note, defeating East Jackson 61-54.
