The Lady Leopards’ season ended in the first round of the region tournament.
Banks fell to Fannin County, 57-27. Fannin ended as the runner-up in the region behind Union County.
After trailing at the half 27-10, Banks could not get going on a strong offense, despite four three-pointers from Lacey Saxon.
“We hit more three pointers than field goals,” coach Jerry King said. “[We] never really got anything going on offense. Fannin played a good game.”

Saxon led the ladies with 12 points followed by Lauren Kennedy with seven points. Katlyn Parks added four while Samm Kennedy and Lauren Gibbs picked up two apiece.
Improved Season
The Lady Leopards end the season improved over last year with an 11-15 overall record and 4-4 in subregion play.
“We improved from last year,” King said. “We had five wins in the region this year compared to one last year. We also had 11 wins this year compared to seven last year. The highlights of the season were winning at Jackson and Jefferson.”
The team loses five seniors, but King is confident that a strong core will return.
“Next season will depend greatly on improving in the off season.”
One of the returning players, Madison Franklin was named to the honorable mention list for the 8-AA All Region for this season, while senior Lauren Kennedy was named to the All Region second team.
