Seven Mat Eagles go to State tournament

After a successful showing at the sectionals tournament in Jefferson, seven Mat Eagles will be representing East Jackson at the State tournament at the Gwinnett Arena this weekend.

The highest place finisher of the Mat Eagles was Robbie King, who placed third in the 160 lb. category. Other placers included Scott Hill, who placed fourth in the 189 lb. category; Justin Griffith, who placed fourth in the 119 lb. category; Shane Moore, who placed fourth in the 130 lb. category; Drew Hunter, who placed fifth in the 152 lb. category; Victor Equirte, who placed fifth in the 103 lb. category; and Luis Verduzco, who placed sixth in the 140 lb. category.
