Expectations vital for soccer Doggs

Coming off a 4-11 campaign, the Bulldoggs have had a complete overhaul in the team chemistry department, Sonnier said this week.

“We play and behave like a true team,” the coach said. “The attitude of this season is centered around having fun and learning the fundamentals of the game as opposed to the ‘have to win at all costs’ attitude.”

WBHS has a talented group, Sonnier said, that has been playing together for a few years.

“It’s only a matter of time before it all comes together,” the coach said.

The Bulldoggs hosted a preseason scrimmage against East Hall Friday. While WBHS fell 5-2, Sonnier said the srimmage was a positive experience for the team.

Aldred Nagbe, a senior, scored both goals for the Bulldoggs. Other players expected to do well in 2009 for WBHS, according to Sonnier, include senior Alvaro Rivas, junior Wildredo Pineda, junior Griffin Vincent, sophomore Eric Rivas, junior Bryan Kohunt, senior Brandon Knock, junior Emir Lisic and sophomore Chris Skinner.
